Learning Analytics in Vocational Education –programme

Why?

The need to develop practices and models related to the use of learning analytics in vocational education has been identified and the Learning Analytics Framework (description in English) published by the Ministry of Education also indicates that. The efficient use of learning analytics supports the use of digital learning environments and personalized study paths. The objective is that learning analytics is well established and plays a key role in the development of vocational education and training. This will support the equality in vocational education, the reduction of learning gaps and the improvement of quality. 

How?

Learning analytics in vocational education is a nationwide coordination project in order to promote the use of learning analytics, develop skills and consolidate operations. The aim is to prepare an overall study on the possibilities of utilizing learning analytics in the development of vocational education. Based on the study, recommendations and models will be created for the use of learning analytics. The recommendations and models will be created for all levels; system level, education providers lever, teachers and students. The work is done in close co- operation with various stakeholders and the aim to create the ecosystem for learning analytics in vocational education and training. The project will be implemented in a broad network of training providers and the activities are organized by the work packages described below. The responsible coordinator for the project is the City of Helsinki, Helsinki Vocational College and Adult Institute.
